A sobbing Laura Finkle, taking the stand in her defense, testified Thursday she remembered hearing a "thud" but could recall little else about the day her sister Lisa savagely murdered her stepmother.

Faced with a felony charge she hindered prosecution, Finkle testified for two hours in Rensselaer County Court about her role in the 1989 killing.
