SOLOMON SAYS HOUSE REPUBLICANS WON'T BACK TAX RISES.(Local)

Rep. Gerald Solomon claimed Thursday that President Bush is being "hoodwinked" by "big spending liberals" in reversing his previous anti-tax stand and considering additional levies.
"Read my lips, House Republicans are not going to support the President if he does ask for tax increases," said Solomon, a Queensbury Republican. "Back in 1982, I told Ronald Reagan he was being hoodwinked," Solomon said. "The same thing is happening to Bush, and I told him so."
