Real hypochondriacs are obsessed with both sickness and wellness. They make their own independent decisions about their healing. Pseudo-hypochondriacs of the '90s are liberals who are obsessed with data on illnesses, but will let government take control of their medical care.

I am the opposite of a hypochondriac, whatever that is. I consulted the thesaurus for an antonym but hypochondria has no entry of its own. It is listed under Dejection, along with typical Roget synonyms like "infestivity." The antonyms are listed under Cheerfulness and include "canty."
