Anyone who visited the Art Cologne fair from 1 to 5 November would have good reason to think it a success, as would surely befit the world's longest established modern and contemporary fair, founded in 1966. The large partitioned-off space full of horses munching on hay--a recreation of a 1960s Jannis Kounellis installation--was a winningly zany way for the fair's organisers to celebrate the fair's status. The dealers offered a fine mix, from Ludorff of Dusseldorf, with Max Ernst's acid-coloured Sunset, to a reptile made of lace and pearls by Kristan Kozul, with Galerie Kai ...
