Financially troubled Cohoes Specialty Stores Ltd., which closed its doors 15 days ago, is opening its merchandise liquidation sale at 10 a.m. today with the help of the Burlington Coat Factory.

Burlington, a publicly held national retailer with 134 stores, including one in Latham, also held out the prospect Friday that it might acquire the entire Cohoes Specialty operation.
