Rensselaer County Sheriff W. Warren McGreevy said an internal investigation into the recent suicide and the attempted suicide at the countyjail "came to a conclusion that there was no neglect" on the part of officers at the facility.
Inmate Thomas G. Kennedy hanged himself in his cell at the jail on July 11, and William Shaw attempted to hang himself in his cell the next day. He was later transferred to the state hospital in Marcy, Oneida County.
