THE new voice of BT's speaking clock yesterday started recording the famous phrase "... at the third stroke."
Sara Mendes da Costa, 40, from Brighton, beat 18,500 entrants in a competition to read the time on the 70-year-old service.
She is only the fourth permanent voice of the speaking clock, which is accurate to within five thousandths of a second.
