The sub-title of this newest addition to the Buildings of Ireland series gives its remit: 'The City Within the Grand and Royal Canals and the Circular Road with the Phoenix Park'. The research for this book was done in the 1990s so that the Dublin it presents is that of 2000. The layout of the book follows the format laid down by Pevsner for his Buildings of England series.
