PASS by the headquarters of Malaysia's ruling United Malays National Organisation, and the number 2020 stares out at you. Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's prime minister, is a doctor not an optician, but he has chosen the slogan "2020 Vision" to capture his view of Malaysia's future. The idea is that by the year 2020 Malaysia will have caught up with the developed world.
