Shoe & Sport Talk (SSI), is a computer system that provides independent shoe and sporting goods stores with electronic data interchange and other inventory management technologies formerly available only to large chains. SSI's use by three independents is detailed. They are Muller's Family Shoe Stores, Hahn Shoes, and Acton. In the first case, the system has reduced order turnaround from two weeks to a few days.
