John Gould Fletcher and Southern Modernism.

John Gould Fletcher is best known as an expatriate residing in London who first achieved fame as one of the Imagist poets and later as one of the Nashville Fugitives. Subsequently, he contributed an essay on Southern education to the Agrarian manifesto, 171 Take My Stand, in 1930. Of his later works the ones of most enduring interest and appeal were his autobiography, Life Is My Song(1937), and his Selected Poems (1938), the latter for which he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize.
