An analysis of the Whorf Hypothesis reveals assumptions buried in language which may have effects on societal behavior. The Whorf Hypothesis specifically states that assumptions buried in language are projected into belief systems which allegedly reflect actuality. Comparisons between Indo-European languages and Amerindian languages led to the formation of the hypothesis since the latter does not make distinctions in its semantics unlike the former.
