Dec. 4--Several contestants were crowned as royalty in the Queens of Morgantown Pageant on Sunday. "The purpose of this pageant is to build a young lady's self esteem, and give them poise and leadership skills so that they can use that in their everyday life," said Jenny Goodwin, pageant coordinator.
Twenty-four contestants competed for a crown in various age groups at the University High School auditorium. Goodwin said the contestants for the top spot -- Queen of Morgantown -- competed in three categories: casual wear, evening gown ...
