Here's a buyers' guide to the huge variety of features, configurations and price ranges that characterize the offerings of 50 suppliers.

Small injection molding machines (under 100 tons) account for an increasing share of the number of units sold and are proliferating in the sheer variety of models and nameplates offered. According to SPI figures, shipments of U.S.-built small machines increased 35% from 1991 to 1992 and, except for a slight drop in 1990, accounted for a fairly steady increase since 1988.
