Petromin clears 36 blocks in NELP-IV, rejects bids for 14.

Nov. 23--NEW DELHI -- The petroleum ministry has rejected 14 bids under the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP-VI) round, including those of Essar Oil, Niko Resources, Finder and M3Nergy in 14 blocks.

The first rank bidders recommended for the award of blocks include consortia led by Reliance Industries (RIL), ONGC, Gail, Cairn, Santos, FOCUS, GSPC, Oil India (OIL), Petrogas, Prize Petroleum, Tatas, Adani and Anil Ambani-owned RNRL. As per the recommendation by D-G (hydrocarbons), RIL has consolidated seven blocks on the Krishna-Godavari and Mahanadi deep water basin.
