Conceptualized mainly by the New York-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Juan-Carlos Formell, allied with two other avant-garde exiled Cuban musicians--bassist Carlitos del Puerto and trap drummer Jimmy Branly, this bicoastal trio's debut offers a contour designed, fervently rhythmic sound identified by Juan Formell's prodigal offspring as "rock en clave" (or clave-based rock), no relation whatsoever to the lame and boring formula known as "rock en español."
