There are a number of lenses that are somewhat different in design and construction from the standard or normal lenses traditionally listed for and supplied with the 35mm SLR cameras. They are intended to produce special effects such as: including more subject matter - wide angle; making larger images of distant subjects - telephoto; optionally varying image size - zoom; making large images of small objects - macro; enlarging.
