Nov. 17--Home sales in Buffalo Niagara declined 15 percent in October from a year ago, reflecting fallout from the surprise snowstorm.

The Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors (BNAR) reported 672 homes sold, compared to 797 a year ago. It was the lowest total for October since 1996. Despite the drop in home sales, the median sale price increased 6.5 percent from a year ago, to $96,925. The median price means half of the homes sold for more than that amount, and half for less.
