Nov. 15--WATERLOO -- The home of the Waterloo Elks Lodge 290 was quite a sight when it was built in 1924. Marble, tile, Bedford Brick, black walnut and stained glass combined to give the lodge a distinctive feel for its members. "At one point, it was said that this was the finest Elks Lodge west of the Mississippi," said Elks Lodge 290 trustee Don Timmerman.
