ENID, Okla. -- After producing nearly 2 million bbl of oil and 6 Bcf of natural gas, operators say they believe they have discovered most of the significant reserves in the Ames Hole.

The play near the community of Ames in southeastern Major County was just discovered in 1991, despite a great deal of oil activity in the area.

"It is significant for Oklahoma, and rare, when you consider the discovery is in a region that has been explored for years by hundreds, even thousands of geologists," said Michael D. Kuykendall, a geologist with Solid Rock Resources Inc.
