The desperate Ottoman: Enver Pasa and the German Empire. (part 2) (Ottoman Empire's war minister during World War I)

Enver Pasa, war minister for the Turkish or Ottoman Empire before and during World War I, strongly influenced the empire's alliance with Germany. Enver's domination of military planning prevented the Germans from manipulating Ottoman strategy as much as they would have liked. German mission chiefs in Turkey thus found Enver difficult to work with. After the war Enver fled to Germany and then to Russia where he failed to gain support against Turkey's new leader, Mustafa Kemal. Enver, who died on Aug 8, 1922, was actuated above all by contempt for Western hypocrisy.
