Mirza Abdul Rahim Talibov-i Tabrizi, called Talibov, was a prominent Iranian intellectual who advocated nationalism, modernization and Islamic traditionalism. Talibov, who lived from 1834 to 1911, believed that modernization, or the adoption of Western science and philosophy, would serve Iranian nationalism since it would help Iran ward off domination by Western imperialist countries.
