The Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing should be expanded into three categories: single editorials, series of editorials, and a body of editorials on various topics. The prize formerly went to single editorials when it was begun in 1917, but was given for a series of editorials on a single topic since 1934. The suggested change is aimed at recognizing the different approaches made by editors in writing.
