Nov. 8--Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Equities has finally acknowledged that the company is considering a sale.

Word has been widespread in the property industry since this summer that the real estate investment trust is talking to possible buyers.

The top potential buyer for Crescent was identified as Istithmar, a Dubai-based company with holdings all over the world.

While Istithmar officials confirmed their talks to acquire the big real estate investor, Crescent stayed mute.
