The school district of Agar, ND, has developed a unique educational objective for its community, the training and education of high school students who want to establish their own businesses. The Agar school is called the Prairie Economic Development Academy (PEDA) and it is administered like a business firm. The PEDA was envisioned not just to educate aspiring entrepreneurs in Agar, it was also meant to arrest the perceived decline of economic opportunities in its community.
