Overall Chinese Herbal Medicine: Formulas & Strategies by Bensky and Barolet (1) is one of the best texts on formulas and strategies in the English language. Its breadth of coverage, depth of information and analysis, and attention to translation are all impressive. In my opinion, much of its content is even better than modern texts in the Chinese language used in China. In teaching from this text over the past three years, however, I have found a number of errors. This article is intended to address these mistakes.
