Donald James Briggs, formerly of Syracuse, died peacefully at his home in Fort Walton Beach, FL., Wednesday October 25, 2006. Born on December 9, 1934 in Canastota, he was the son of the late Georgia Bergman Briggs Shaw and his step-father the late Everett A. Shaw. He was a taxi driver at the Syracuse Airport 30 plus years prior to his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Gem and Mineral Society and an avid fisherman.
