Nov. 3--Rising natural gas production in the Rocky Mountains and a doubling of natural gas liquids sales led to a substantial increase in third-quarter earnings at Tulsa-based Williams Cos. Inc., the company reported Thursday.

Net income for Williams, which produces and transports natural gas, rose to $106.2 million, or 18 cents per share, from $4.4 million, or 1 cent per share, in the same quarter last year.
