Nov. 2--Harry Bertoia lived to magnify nature's beauty. The Berks County sculptor transformed dandelions into satellite trees of stainless steel and reeds into chiming rods of beryllium copper. He considered his Barto barn more than a concert hall for his sound sculptures; to him it was nothing less than a cosmic instrument.
This symbiotic relationship stamps "In Nature's Embrace," a Bertoia retrospective at the Reading Public Museum.
