CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Top-level retail executives always talk about the vital role played by store managers, but how many really know what those key people do every day?
At Rite Aid they are making sure every director and above that works at the corporate office knows just what a store manager does in an average retail day.
The company has instituted a new program called "A Day in the Life of a Store Manager," which assigns everyone from the director level on up to a store. The executives go out four times a year and essentially shadow the store manager for the entire day.
