Nov. 1--KOLKATA, India -- Hooghly Met Coke and Power (HMCP), a Rs 1,650-crore joint venture between Tata Steel and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation to produce 1.6 million tonne of metallurgical coke, is slated to commission first phase of the project by July 2007. The project will meet Tata Steel's entire requirement of coke as the plant raises its capacity to 9.7 million tonne at Jamshedpur.
