Oct. 31--As a TV event, the World Series averaged 3 hours 5 minutes a game. That's 79 minutes longer than "Bull Durham," an epic baseball movie that spanned an entire minor-league season and included several long, slow, soft kisses that seemed to last three days. Average game-time temperature of the Cardinals-Tigers World Series: 48 degrees. The biggest story? A pitcher accused of cheating.
