Southern States Cooperative Inc. (Southern States) has grown to be a major petroleum distributor since its establishment in the 1930s. The cooperative operates over 100 retail outlets in six southern states. Despite deriving much of its revenue from gasoline distribution, Southern States COO Terry Ragsdale noted that the cooperative also generates considerable revenue from farm equipment and supplies retailing. Ragsdale also discussed some of Southern States' future financial plans.
