OCTOBER is celebrated in our country as Indigenous People's Month. The National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) are the lead institutions in this yearly celebration honoring the indigenous people of the country.
There are 350 million indigenous people in the world today, according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
