Oct. 25--RADFORD -- The first of two planned new elementary schools has the green light from the city council -- and a promise of $14.5 million.

But it's still under discussion which of Radford's two aging elementary schools will be replaced first, and where the new school will go.

"We're going to be making a decision based on two assumptions," school Superintendent Chuck Bishop said Tuesday, a day after the council approved money for the new school. "If we are able to purchase the potential piece of property we're looking at, that will lead us ...
