Sheriff's Office readies move into new building.

Oct. 25--The downtown office of the Douglas County sheriff will move next week into a new building attached to the county jail. The downtown office will be closed Monday and Tuesday for the move. On those days, citizens seeking handgun permits can go to the west office at 156th Street and West Maple Road. Criminal history checks can be obtained at Omaha Police Headquarters, 15th and Howard Streets, during that time. The new building opens Nov. 1.
