The US and Ukranian governments issued a joint statement expressing a mutual commitment to the development of closer economic and commercial ties between the two countries. The declaration reiterated the intention of both governments to carry through the bilateral trade agreement entered into on Jun 22, 1992, and to implement the initiatives on investment, defense conversion economic reform and science and technology cooperation outlined in it.
