Peter E. Stangl, Chairman and CEO of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), called on Building Congress members to oppose the city's plan to cut $750 million of the $1.7 billion the city and the Municipal Assistance Corporation (MAC) were supposed to contribute to the MTA's $9.6 billion five-year capital program.

The Building Congress is a business/labor construction industry association whose 500 corporate, institutional and labor members represent more than 150,000 individuals.
