Only approximately 8-10% of needled felts worldwide are used in filtration. Other products are geotextiles, home furnishings, automotive, padding, roofing and other segments. The market for needled felts in filtration represents approximately $400 million for roll goods. This can be broken down into sales of $100-115 million in North America and $175-180 million in Western Europe, with Japan & Far East at $90-95 million and other regions at $20 million.
More than 600 manufacturers of needled felts exist worldwide, but only 60 to 80 companies are producing needled ...
