To say he hit the skids in the last six months probably overstates it. But it's likely Mark Lenzi could see the skids from the places he has been, financially and economically, since he won the gold medal in springboard diving at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
Lenzi was thi low: He offered to sell his gold medal. It seemed to be the only way to start a new life, and a new life is something Lenzi definitely wants and needs.
His story should be a lesson ...
