Olympics: Will Doha Get the Gold?

Is the world ready for a Mideast Olympics? While there are no formal campaigns until after the 2014 Winter Games are announced next July, Doha, Qatar, is weighing a bid for the 2016 Summer Games. Speculation about the capital city's international sporting ambitions has only increased since it was awarded the 2006 Asian Games, taking place this December. If Doha aces its job as host, after spending $2.8 billion on sports infrastructure, it could mount a credible campaign.
