Oct. 7--People just walk away with Ann Bittel's strings of beads, but the 88-year-old Owensboro woman plans it that way. She leaves her homemade rosaries on a table at church, free for the taking, after services on Mercy Sunday each year. Last year she gave away 145. "I've never sold a rosary," she said.
