With a non-compete clause now expired, Inmarsat plc has partnered with ACeS International Ltd. to offer satellite-based, handheld voice service around the globe-a growth area the London-based, mobile satellite services company is moving rapidly to exploit.

Inmarsat's deal with ACeS shaves more than a year off its quest to enter the handheld voice sector and provides an established customer base upon which to build its own. ACeS clearly gets a boost in capital investment and a partner with fully global ambitions.
