When masked raiders stormed into a half-dozen towns in the Mexican state of Chiapas on January 1, they raised a question that hasn't been answered yet. The baffling March 23 assassination of the ruling party's presidential candidate asked the question again. Is the Chiapas revolt merely a regional conflict--or is it the start of something big?
