Levels of mercury in the air are reportedly dangerously high in communities hosting coal-fired power plants.

This was gathered after members of the House of Representatives Committee on Ecology admitted that they are not convinced with the claim of Mirant Corp. that mercury emitted from power plants it operates are within acceptable levels.
