Sep. 24--Back in the old days, before an international border split the land into two countries, the ancestors of Armando Elias roamed freely throughout what is now Southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico.
The Elias pioneers helped shape Arizona history in the military, ranching and mining. Those and other family contributions are included in several history books.
