Sep. 23--CANON CITY - Before boarding the Royal Gorge railroad Friday, the last time Alvin Plucker rode a train he was fresh off 11 months of imprisonment in North Korea in 1968.

"We rode a train from Wonsan Harbor where we were taken in as prisoners to Pyongyang, which is the capital of North Korea," Plucker recalled.

It was a cold, slow ride spanning 100 miles in 10 hours. Many of the American captives had no coats and were thin from their turnip-soup diet.
