Sep. 22--With pressure mounting over its troubled internal investigation of boardroom leaks, Hewlett-Packard is shifting into serious damage control.

Chief Executive Mark Hurd, until recently out of the spotlight on the investigation, offered Thursday to testify at a congressional hearing on the investigation. The offer came after a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce suggested looking at whether Hurd should testify.
