I wish I could find that tape.
I know I listened to it last year. It's a treasured memento of my 1989 interview with Ann Richards for the Chicago Tribune. (The former Texas governor died last week at the age of 73.)
Back then, she was on a book tour for her autobiography "Straight from the Heart." She was also running for governor of Texas. She won that election, but lost the next one to a guy now known as "Dubya." I'd been a fan of hers ever since she said Dubya's dad was "born with a silver foot in his mouth" at the 1988 Democratic convention.
