The influence of dispositions and attitudinal outcomes on the work motivation of Hong Kong managers.

This study of Hong Kong managers explored the effects of the dispositional variables, positive affectivity (PA) and negative affectivity (NA), on work motivation and the mediating effects of perceptions of pay and job satisfaction on this relationship. The dispositional traits, (PA) and (NA), had a positive and negative relationship, respectively, with work motivation. Further investigation revealed that perceived pay satisfaction and job satisfaction mediated the relationship for PA but only job satisfaction mediated the relationship for NA.
